Brent Anbe works full time for the Hawaii Film Office and part time as one of Hawaii's Independant Filmmakers.

His independent filmmaking began in 2001 upon completion of his Communication Degree from the University of Hawaii. Brent co-directed the documentary "Ke Kulana He Mahu: Remembering a Sense of Place," which world premiered at the Smithsonian Institute, followed by the Hawaii International Film Festival , San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival as well as other national and international film festivals.

Brent's second project "Special," a documentary on two young transgender individuals received screenings at the 2002 Ohina Film Showcase and Cinema Paradise. View it now at Planet Out PopcornQ.

 
 
 
 
 
           
    Independent Projects      
   

"One Night in Bangkok," a fun an campy music video selected for the 2003 Ohina Short Film Showcase and the gala opening night of the 2004 Rainbow Film Festival, and the 2006 San Francisco GLBT Film Festival: FRAMELINE.

"Confide in Me," a hypnotic and provocative music video that pays, homage to the classic Kylie Minogue dance song: "Confide in Me." From a sexy chair dance to a 20-foot long luxurious couture evening gown, you will be enthralled and entertained from start to finish. This local take on a MTV type music video teases, entices, seduces, and entertains. An official selection of the 2006 Rainbow Film Festival Gala Night presentation.

Brent has also worked full time in local and national commercial production. He has interned for local production company Pacific Focus as well as joined local commercial production house Shooters Film Production. Brent's recent national credits include work on Sheryl Crow's "Soak up the Sun," music video, Lilo & Stitch's ABC Special, and American Idol Season 3: Hawaii Auditions.

Brent has also worked closely with the Universal ShowQueen Pagentry System. He has produced and directed the pageant openings for the 2001, 2002, and 2003 Universal ShowQueen Pageant. As well as, producing the 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007Universal ShowQueen DVD.

Brent is also currently assisting as an associate producer and videographer with a new documentary, "The Glades Project."
